#12 Final Cuts
Hello everyone hope all is well! This will finalize my haircut journey with you all. It has been a special pleasure to be able to show my gifts and talents to you all. That's why I'm glad I took this class. The journey does not end here. There is still much more to be done and so much more to learn. Hopefully after I graduate from college, I will be able go into barber school and really perfect my craft. Thank you all for your comments and feedback.

This video is a barbers competition and every year, about 20,000 barbers from all over compete at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre. This is something that inspires me because I really want to be a part of this in future.
#7 The Self Cut System
This is called the self cut system. The video will show you what is and how it works. I personally do not have it yet, but I will definitely be purchasing it soon. It consists of three mirrors that you can hang on your doors and it allows you to give yourself a decent cut. This is just a easier system if your trying to learn how to cut your own hair.

#6 Taper and Line Haircut
Hello again everyone! The cut that I want to talk about today is a pretty simply special cut. This cut really is just a basic taper fade haircut. If you do not know the difference between a fade and a taper when it comes to cutting hair, this is a link that briefly explains the distinction. For me this is one of the easiest cuts because there is not really much you have to do, but cut the hair down to a certain length and then just fade the sides and back.

#5 High Top Fade
Hello everyone!! I hope all is well, today I'm going to talk with you about the high top fade haircut. This is a very special hairstyle to me because it was very popular during the 80's and 90's. You guys probably know the former rappers and actors Kid 'N' Play, and also DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince (Will Smith), who is still acting today. Well these guys wore the high top fade style during their time and it was so popular back then, that people are still wearing the style till this day. The picture above is my younger brother, Malachi. I've been practice this style on his head for some months now and it's looking better every time.
Here is a picture of Kid 'N' Play with their high top fade hairstyles.

I was unable to get a video of me cutting this hairstyle, but I will have some very soon. The video below is just a basic tutorial of how to cut a high top fade.

#4 Fading and Blending
These are just basic steps on how the process of the cut was going. Like I mentioned, this was my first time doing this so it may not be the best, but in order to get better at anything, you have to practice and dedicate yourself.
This is the fading step. You always want to make sure everything is even all the way around the head. Basically like a color line where it goes from dark to light.
This is the blending step. When blend the hair, always make sure that there are no lines around the head. If you look at the picture above, you can see the difference.
#3 High Fade Haircut
This was a basic tutorial for a high fade haircut on my suitemate. Mind you this was the first time that I performed on a Caucasian person, so I will admit that I was slight nervous, but confident at the same time. This is just a brief video on how I started the process of the cut. The pictures will show the finishing results.

#2 Basic Equipment
Here you will see some of my own personal haircutting equipment that I use. I don't have the top notch professional stuff yet, but the stuff that I have, I put into good use. What you will need to start the process is hair clippers and liners. If you do some research online, you will see that there are plenty of places locally that you can purchase them. There are also different brands of hair clippers and liners that you can get. The clippers you see on the far left are Wahl brand. Next to those are my Andis T-Styliners. The rest are just a few basics things you will need, comb, brush and a dusting brush.
These are mainly the vital things you need for the hair cutting process. Here you see blades for the clippers. These generally come with the clippers if you purchase them in a store. The blades vary in size. The smaller size are mainly for shorter hair and larger for longer hair. Also hair cutting scissors is something you may need. These are really helpful when cutting frizzles out the hair. Also you see a small brush, this is use for brushing the hair off the clippers and liners. It can become a hassle when there is a lot of hair on the blades, so those really come in handy. And lastly is the Andis blade spray for disinfectant and rust preventative. The spray is one of the most important things to have when cutting hair because you want to have sterilized blades that are clean when you cut different sets of hair. That's not just the blades, always sterilize and clean all your equipment after use, so it prevents infections and different hair problems.
